Welcome to Monday Mentors
Monday Mentors Is Here For You
I don’t know about you, but so often I come up with ideas I would like to incorporate into my life and then once I get to thinking about them, I let them go by the wayside. It’s not because I think they will be too difficult, or because I believe they are destined to fail. It is simply because I allow too much time to go by before I do anything about it. Ugh! All the great ideas that are just lying dormant because of my inability to get them out of my head and into the world.
It affects almost every area of my life too. I have a good story idea and want to write a play about it, but I don’t because I think through the ending and don’t know how to make it work. I read about a Soldiers whose history needs to be shared with the world, yet I don’t because there are so many forgotten heroes, how can I educate about them all. I want to start a healthy life journey, but I don’t because once my stomach starts growling and I get a headache it’s time to grab something at the local drive thru before I die. This thinking can infest anything in our lives and can prevent us from seeing the true awesomeness that comes from follow through. We become good idea fairies, but those ideas have no pixie dust to make them fly.
Well damnit, it’s time to get them off the ground. It’s time to stop thinking and start doing. It’s time to take ideas, whether good or bad, whether they are going to be successful or crash and burn hard to their eventual conclusion. It’s time to take that first step on a new idea that started swimming around in my head. And, of course, since I’ve recently followed through on my healthy journey and lost 100+ lbs., it’s going to be related to that.
Several friends have asked how I lost the weight. I have told them that I would put something together, and while I thought it might be a very long blog post full of the exacting details of my journey, that is tedious and would probably have the clinical excitement of an organic chemistry textbook. That leads to people reading the first two paragraphs and then writing me asking more questions. We live in a fast society where we need short fast answers. That is what I hope to accomplish.
So, with Accountability being part of the A.I.R. I breath, I am telling all who read or listen that starting July 9that 8 pm, my friend Britny and I will be starting “Monday Mentors.” This 10-minute Facebook Live show will be based on the premise that everyone can live their most awesome lives no matter who they are, no matter what they do, no matter where they live, and no matter what their circumstance. It will be about our health journeys for sure, but it will also be about the motivations that go us there, and about how those motivations can inspire us in all areas of our lives.
Make no mistake. Britny and I are committed to this and to you. We want you to tune in not just because you want to live a healthier lifestyle, but because we want you to gain some inspiration you can pass on to others. I once was taught in management that if someone has a good idea, STEAL SHAMELESSLY so that good ideas can spread. Know that I’ll be stealing from the greats on Google so that all of us can pass on wisdom and encouragement to others.
I know two weeks isn’t that much time to start something from scratch but that’s the point. I don’t want to spend time thinking about all the ways to make it work, and how it might not. I want to dive in with both feet. Sure, we need to have a plan, and there is one, but plans can change, the commitment won’t. Monday nights at 8, it’s time to find motivation. It’s time to find meaning. It’s time for Monday Mentors.
